Our Story — Next Chapter House

Next Chapter House was founded on one simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves another chance to write a better chapter in their life story.

The vision began after witnessing firsthand the challenges individuals face when trying to rebuild their lives after hardship — whether that hardship came from homelessness, incarceration, financial struggle, or unexpected life transitions or no family support. Too often, people ready to change had nowhere stable to go, no structure to rely on, and no supportive environment to help them move forward.

Next Chapter House was created to fill that gap.

What's starting as a mission to provide safe housing will quickly grow into something bigger — with a commitment to offer not just a place to stay, but a place to grow. A place where accountability is balanced with compassion. Where structure exists alongside opportunity. And where residents are treated with dignity while they work toward independence.

We designed Next Chapter House as an independent and shared living residence that operates in alignment with Iowa housing guidelines. Our focus is on providing a structured living environment that encourages employment, responsibility, financial stability, and personal development — without the barriers that often come with institutional programs.
